Alexis’ style of therapy is a blend of Trauma Informed models such as EMDR, somatic work, and CBT added in with a healthy dose of brain science. Alexis believes building strong relationships, and having a safe place to explore feelings without judgment are important tools to succeed to take you from the therapy room into your everyday life. Alexis offers services for adults, families, couples, children, and teens.
Over the years, she has specialized in working with adults and children who have experienced trauma(s) at varying ages and is trained in EMDR in addition to a variety of CBT modalities. Working with people who have survived traumatic experiences and guiding them to empower themselves is a passion of hers.
Alexis also offers therapy focusing on the mental health needs of those suffering from chronic illness(es) with special and personal ties to the Lyme disease community. Unfortunately, much of the medical world discards the importance of a patients' mental health.
At San Jose State University, where she spent 4 years exploring Northern California; from there, she moved to L.A. and completed her graduate studies at Antioch University, obtaining an M.A in Clinician Psychology. In her downtime, Alexis enjoys going on hikes, relaxing with her very lazy cats, over caffeinating, and reading books about the brain doing things.
